Volvo MD7A Fuel Filter

I need a new fuel filter for a Volvo MD7a and I have the Volvo Ref. No. 21624740 which does not cross reference with anything. Does anyone know please what filter other people use to replace this? It is the spin on one at the back of the engine.

I could get one mail order from Volvo and other spares stockists but I prefer to support my local motor factor if possible.

The originals were Bosch with a choice of with or without drain plug which could be either plastic or metallic.
If it's a Bosch that's fitted now it will have a Bosch number stamped on it
The number you quoted was not one of the original units fitted which was 243464

Many thanks guys for your input. I have managed to get one using the 243464 number.

The one that was on it was BF790 which is an oil filter and probably not fine enough for fuel.

BF790 is a fuel filter but MD7A is not amongst the applications listed

Well my local supplier told me it was an oil filter hence my desire to acquire the correct one.

I expect that after 3½ years the OP has already found a filter .......................... also hopefully discovered that what his " local supplier" tells him is not worth a toss

ITYWF part # 24 is the entire fuel filter assembly ..............it'd be darned expensive to replace at each service at a cost of €121.38

The replaceable cannister is #28 .... but still expensive at €32 which is why people look for a cheaper equivalent
