Volvo MD5 Air Cleaner/Filter

Just wondering if any of the readers have a volvo MD5(A) Air filter unit that is going spare. The part is a round metal fitting with a long trumpet out to the side. My engine currently runs well but doesnt have one. I would like to get hold of one to prevent any bolts or nuts etc. accidentally getting into the engine thus trashing it.

The new part from volvo is a whopping £93!!! Therefore if anyone has an old engine that isnt working or a spare part I would be very keen to part with a little bit of cash to get my hands on it!

Needed a very simular air filter on an old Lister once... Cheapest answer, well we called, as an example, Demon Tweeks tel.01978 664466 and brought for about £12 a universal rubber necked cone type air filter. Ok inteneded for a car engine, but just fine on any motor air intake.

Think ours was a Pipercross filter, but loads availible from the likes of K&N etc etc
