hI - Anyone know the Dia of the plug plse - reason seen a nice kit in US that screws into sump and gives big dia hose to drain oil from. This means no sucking thru dip stick or dumping lots in bilge cause engins so low cant get tray under thanks

My 2040 has a sump drain suction pipe already fitted. It is on the starboard side of the engine and at the moment I have it blanked off (the previous owner had an electric pump fitted, but the pipes were the wrong quality and leaked oil everywhere). Are you sure there isn't a similar fitting on your 2020? It should be on the top of the sump plate near the oil filter.

My previous 2020 and my current 2030 Both have a pipe on Stbd side for sucking out oil. With Peko container I can change oil and filter in less than half hour, but I still hav'nt worked out how to stop spilling oil when I unscrew filter.

Brilliant bit of design...

The positioning of oil filters on many Volvo Penta engines defies logic. You really wonder whether their "designers" ever have to service an engine!

My 2020 also has a pipe into the sump for sucking the oil out. Its on the same side of the engine as the filter.
