Volvo MD2020 Alternator Size

Hi,

We're thinking of getting a Sterling alternator to battery charger thingy but I'm not sure on the alternator we've got (and can't get up to the boat in time). Does anyone know what size is usually fitted please? (I'm pretty sure it won't have been upgraded).

I imagine I'm ok with the 80A charger?

I seem to recall that 60A alternators were fitted to the 2020 engines, although this wouldn't affect the OP's choice of A-to-B charger.

If you think its the standard alternator why not down load a copy of the owners manual and check it for yourself ?

I have the manual but it doesn't provide the alternator spec unfortunately...

The alternator spec is listed in the technical specs at the end of the operator's manual. Anyway, it's 60A so you'd be OK with an 80A A-to-B charger.
