Hello,I have tried googling... no joy. Is my engine a marinised Jap dumper truck engine or something,eg Kubota? Or is it exclusively made in a Volvo factory? I keep reading that Nannis,Betas etc have cheap spares available if you know your base engine, any body know mine?
Not that it needs anything doing yet, every run is an Italian tune-up,works so far..
cheers Jerry

It is a Perkins made in Japan in a joint venture with a company called Shibaura. Engines also used in a variety of industrial applications - farm machinery, construction, generators etc. went out of production in 2005. Very reliable, needs little in the way of spares other than filters. Bits that might need replacing such as water pumps and heat exchangers are unique to marine applications.

Hi Jerry- I have fitted this engine in my boat and so far I'm very happy with it. There is a guy on ebay called Westerlysailor
who sells service kits for this engine. My local car spares place has also supplied compatible oil filters. I will give you the
reference numbers if you are interested.
