Help,
I Can't start my engine after winter layup and service
but suspect it is air in the fuel lines,
but my manual is missing the relevant pages, 58/59,
showing the process to dismantle and bleed,
can anybody help, please?

I think the 2020 is just like the 2030 in which case, slacken the bleed nut on top of fuel filter on the engine and activate the priming lever on the fuel pump until all the air is expelled. Can take an age. If nothing seems to be happening, turn the engine slightly in case the priming lever is on the cam and not operating at full stroke. I find there is an element of self priming on my 2030.

This is the page from the manual. Once the filter is full, hand turn the engine to "top", slacken the injector pipes and turn the engine over on battery. Don't try tp pump it through by hand, it takes for ever!.

I have a Perkins M20, same engine as the 2020. The Injector pump appeared to get "gummed up" on mine after a long period of not being used. The local (commercial) Lucas/Bosch chap sorted it for me. He said that on those small Japanese engines (thats what the base engine is) they were proned to stick.

Our MD2030C was a most reluctant starter. I looked at the fuel supply and found no problems. Then I put a mutlimeter across the glow plugs and found no supply to them - traced the problem to loose connections with the glowplug relay. You might wish to check that before you start taking lines off injectors, which is fraught with the danger of cracking fuel pipe joints.

PM your email and I caan send you the Manual with the missing pages. You have the internet manual as thousands of others with 58/59 missing, including the moteren site. With my 2020 and current 2030, I find they self bleed just turn it oever on the key with the sea cock closed, open when it fires.
