Volvo KAD stern drive info needed

Hi all,

I am off to look at a boat with KAD32’s with stern drives.

Can anyone tell me what stern drives will be on it?

Were there various options or does the kad32 only use one stern drive?

If there are options i will try and find out what they are when I go see.

I want to research them so I can look out for common issues when I get there.

Think they were DP-E from memory. Sounds about right. Single biggest factor to make stern drives successful is religiously sticking to the maintenance schedule.

Some KAD32s also had the DPSX drive as well as the DPE

Hiya Seastoke,

Have moved away from the 28 now and am going to see a Hardy 305 which is about 30/31 feet I believe.

I meant home as in the Marina. Wasn’t planning on sticking it on my drive.

I am going to bring her back by Sea with a friend who is a very experienced. He has 40 years experience under his belt

After a successful sea trial of course.
