Folks,
Friend wit a KAD43 reckons his alternator isin't charging.

Rather than do the normal thing and jump into my own engine bay and note what wires go where, does anyone have a wiring schematic for a 12v KAD engine? I presume they're all the same.

I checked the workshop manual, doesn't appear to be any schematic there

Thanks folks

b+ thick red is battery positive

B_. Thick black is negative

Thin brown with spade terminal or 8 mm headed nut is feed to warning light

Thin black/ grey is feed to tacho and has from memory 7 mm head nut

Thanks VP mate. The basic schematic on the workshop manual showed the B+ and B- alright (B+ being on top, to the starboard side (closest to the engine), B- across from it)

A basic check with a multi meter on B+ and B- would tell me whether it's banging out a charge, correct?

Yes but the main b plus red cable could go to a split charge relay so that it charges both banks so you need to test first at the alternator then at the battery, follow the cable from the alternator, if it just goes into the black sheathed loom then it's going straight back to the starter motor so no split charge system.

It's the Zaffiro 34, don't think there's any split charge system - IIRC you choose using the (1-All-2-OFF) switch. Will keep an eye out anyhow thanks mate
