I have twin kad32s. Replaced a leaking (coolant) copper injector sleeve with correct parts using correct mandrel. My injector wont fit back in!!!! Does it need flaring to seal it to the combustion side of the head and allow the injector nozzle through?? I can't see anything in the engine body manual that states this on the replacement procedure. I note the 2000 and other models use flaring tool 884283 and you do not use a sealing washer. What's the tool for the kad 32???? Please help!

Okay. ..so for anyone doing injector sleeves on any of these KAD volvo engines keep in mind that the part numbers show a superseded number for the injector nozzle. The new nozzle would appear to require the special tool 885237 to fit the sleeve. The manual shows you simply diving the sleeve into the head with a mandrel. That works but your injector will not fit! Why? because the newer sleeve needs flaring or broaching into the head. The mandrel tool 884925 insert the sleeve nicley. ..but it does not open the injector hole up.
I now have to start over by removing the new sleeve and trying to use the tool specd for the 44 and 300 series. Anyone got an idea how to overcome this by flaring downwards into the existing new copper sleeve so the injector fits? ?? The head will remain on.

Okay so wrong again. When ordering injector sleeves KAD32s need the serial number and whether it's an "A" or "P". The injector part number for my boat is 861255 not 35811536. Check your injector fires through nozzle before fitting.
