Sorry but I'm new to this so this might seem a pretty trivial question....
I'm reasonably practical so I decided to do the engine oil change myself. I've bought a Silverline vacuum pump to get the oil out.
The problem I've encountered is that the plastic tube supplied only goes 1/3rd way down the dipstick tube, it stops where it goes into the sump and I can't get it down any further. There's some sort of obstruction restricting the tube. I've tried a plastic pipe which gets to the bottom of the sump but it takes forever to get any oil out. I've run the engine to warm the oil, so it isn't that.
Volvo mention a special adapter in the manual, is there such a thing? Can anyone give me advice on this?
