Forum help please.
THe boat has 2 x D6 310s and I have just had the software updated so they will talk to a Volvo Penta NMEA2000Gateway ( PN 3889757)
This in turn now needs to connect to a Raymarine C120W plotter using the Seatalk NG interface.
The issues is that to connect these 2 I seem to need some £170 of cables. A Bus, power cable, terminators, t pieces, and NMAE adaptor.
In my view there must be a simpler way. NMEA2000 is I assume a serial bus, so in basic format I should need to connect power and then the TX to RX and RX to TX I would have thought, not needing £170 of cables.
I have googled Raymarine NMEA2000 etc but looking at the NMEA standard found this http://www.interfacebus.com/NMEA-2000_Standard.html which seems to suggest it can be done with some wires and 2 x 120 ohm resistors.
Does anyone know how to do this please?
THanks as ever
