Just wondering if anyone has had similar or might have some pointers. I have twin D4-300s on a 2008 boat. I'm currently on a trip and everything was all fine on my first leg. However on the 2nd leg whilst all was OK on a long stretch of 8 knot river, when I tried to accelerate onto the plane I received the "Caution Check Engine" message on the port engine. The manual advises a restart, which I did but the message stayed. I managed to get to our destination at a lower speed. The message did then clear after a restart in a lock.

Rather stupidly I assumed the fault had disappeared, only to find on our next journey leg the same thing happened except this time the port engine went into limp mode and then cut all together (displaying the same fault message). Did a restart and the message has cleared.

I am thinking perhaps battery issue? Any other thoughts welcome. Thanks in advance.

What sort of EVC button panel do you have? Does it have the D & N buttons or a dial wheel in the middle? If the latter then you can read the codes whilst they are active from the screen

Hi, thanks for replying, I have the dial version that displays the detail in a screen embedded in the rev counter for each motor so have no separate lcd displays. Don't think I can display any fault codes as its the "older" system. I think its a Vodia job to get the precise fault code, if indeed the EVC will even give one! See attached pic forbutton panel. Ran it up again today from standstill and no faults, so see what happens when I leave the current marina. Poxy boats.Screenshot_20210715-222455_Drive.jpg
