Hi All
I was wondering if someone can help me? I have a twin engine Sealine fly bridge motor boat with Volvo 74/75 TAM P and I noticed last week the engine hours were not displaying on the lower helm and only displaying very faintly on 1 display on the upper helm. It is the usual LCD display in the lower part of the rev counter (I think). It seems odd that they would all fail or is there some central 'box' that controls the engines hours? Many thanks

I am not sure they dont flicker back into life now and again. If you heat them with a hairdryer, that seems to get a reading temporarily. It seems to happen to all of these , so I wouldnt worry to much !!
Just how often do you care the engine hours?Personally, once a year. The rev counter lcd is just that .. the lcd.. the hours are still held (in the ECU?), and so traceable.

A previous owner fitted a Curtis hour meter with a liquid crystal display on my boat so I use that and have never tried to fix the Volvo Penta hour meter in the tachometer.
The hour meter in the tachometer comes to life now and again and it is still counting.
