Hi all, new member so I hope I am doing this correctly.
I have a 2011 Swift Trawler 52 with a couple of D9s - c. 500hrs. I have recently had issues starting the starboard engine. Port engine is fine. Turn the key and nothing - including guages except sometimes an alarm. I do however have engine start Icons on the screens at the two other helm stations even if the ignition key is out. If I press the icon the starboard engine starts, runs on fast idle with alarms both visual and audio- no gears. (It will do this without the key in the ignition!!) Press the stop icon it will stop but still alarms. Press the port start icon a few times and as long as ignition is off it will eventually make the screen go blank.
When screen goes blank I go back to the ignition, turn the key and the engine operates normally and continues to for as long as it is running. Turn the ignitions off and it will restart fine until I leave it about 10-15 minutes when the same problem occurs.
Another way to clear the fault once the engine has failed to power up is to turn the battery switches for both engines off in sequence - sometimes it clears the fault sometimes I have to go through the above sequence.
I have always - so far anyway - managed to clear the fault eventually but very annoying and worrying.
Can anyone shed any light, I’ve had an engineer on board, who re configured the throttles etc but problem reoccurred after 25 minutes of being stopped, He cannot get back for 2 weeks. As ever, we are about to set off on our 3 week holiday!!

Thanks
