We have Volvo 2016 D6 435 shaft. Anyone know if these have cooler/exchanger pencil anodes on them? Can't find any and none in the operators manual. Just wondering if I need to go to spec savers or if it's a new design idea.
Thanks.

The parts diagram shows a different end cover design on the aftercooler for the latest D6-435 Serial No A501446 onwards, with no anode.
Heat exchanger ... it's not at all clear whether it's there or not. But a 13mm spanner (and a small funnel/hose to catch the water) will tell you.

Thanks FlowerPower. It was the aftercooler I was looking at. Ours is a later model. Any idea why they stopped using anodes?

My guess would be that they weren't doing much in normal circumstances.
On my (previously a bit neglected) D4-260's, the aftercooler anodes were still 80% there, after several years of not being changed.

I cant find them on the parts list either. Maybe they are using different material now to make the coolers and exchangers.

Just for an update. Apparently the cooler and exchangers on the new models do not have anodes but Volvo have not updated the parts manuals yet.
