Having narrowed our search to the Beneteau GT38 and the Prestige 38/390S we are pretty much split on which one to go for. We have excellent examples of both and I might have a buyer for our present boat lined up.

So one area that is different is the engines offered. Beneteau have the D4-300 and the Prestige the Cummins QSD 4.2 -320.

If you have a choice which engine would you prefer over the other and why?

Thanks!

Very simple Volvo D4, Cummins QSD4.2 was actually Cummins Mercruiser QSD 4.2 V.M. common rail engine, the Cummins bit is now silent following the bust up. Support for this engine is as best difficult as very few Mercruiser Diesel dealers even have the service tool.

The Volvo Penta D4 is a solid lump with good performance.

The Volvo Penta dealer network is very extensive and a great parts supply network.

Probably easier to sell when you have finished and a better price with Volvo Penta's .
