Hi everyone, so Im not having any leaks per se, however, Ive noticed some waterin the bilge ( i dont like any water in ther bilge) and have investigated by placing blue paper towelling round the Charge air cooler ends, Fuel cooler, Aftercooler, oil cooler and ran the boat for some hours.
Temps are 85 up to 3000 rpm (ish) and when I go full revs (have some weed growth on hull and drive) hit 28 knts instead of 30,temp goes to 94, no alarms, and when I back off throttle its straight down to 85.. s, so I just thought, lets check the coolers to see if blocked and leaking.
So cant see any signs of leaks, towelling had an odd spot here and there, but nothing untowards, bilge was virtually dry
So I thought about redoing the units and getting new orings etc, anyway as I guess they hadnt been doine on any service records, even though they have new plastic end cap..so must have been done some time...on investigation does this look like the previous owner epoxyed the end cap to stop a leak? is the Charge cooler unit knackered? or would I get away with the orings? dont want to open 'Pandoras box' if its not leaking..
(Out comes the wallet)
