Has anyone had lift and block of paid for by volvo due to warranty work having to be carried out .

The last paragraph in the warranty details what said warranty does not cover.
Understandably I feel "extra costs due to the installation in order to make the product(s) accessible, docking and cranes, loss of use, loss of income, loss of time, loss of property, loss of profit, personal injury, damages on other parts or goods than the indicated products delivered by Volvo Penta"
You may get some ‘good will’ assistance if there are exceptional circumstances from the dealer of said boat, maybe VP?

Best chance is a Volvo dealer with a boat lift, like RK Marine on the Hamble

Just cos it's in VP's terms and conditions doesn't mean it stands up in court. If the gear is less than 12 months old i'd expect VP (or strictly speaking the supplying dealer) would have to foot those costs. If it's more than 12 months old, it's more likely VP's terms would hold.
As a related aside, a lot of people get mixed up about "consequential costs", thinking anything but the cost of the actual fixing is consequential. This is far from the case, and any cost you necessarily have to incur in order to get the problem fixed, will normally be classed as a direct cost. In your example, if you have to get a boat out of the water to fix a problem with an engine, then the lifting charges are a direct cost associated with the failure of the engine.
If someone decided not to charter the boat from you, as they'd seen it being repaired and worried about it's reliability, that would be a consequential cost.

But how do you define goodwill . Was it my goodwill that spent all these beer tokens on a product that everyone seems to recommend , or do volvo see it as now you are stuck with it you can keep on paying for your goodwill . Should i take my goodwill to cummins , cat , yanmar , mercruiser ,when my six numbers come up ? we shall see /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif
