Looking to purchase a Sealine 215 fitted with the above motor. Runs very well & well looked after but, the temperature gauge never moves out of the orange sector! is this normal? looks like it is running too cold. Any ideas please.

Gave it a damn good thrashing on a rather large lake for 30 mins -26 knots +; needle moved fractionaly above the orange sector

Better cold than too hot. Have you checked the gauge?

Wasn't able to check the guage, could be nothing. Just suspicious that it was running so cold, maybe they all do that?

Try earthing the gauge, if it goes all the way to the top it is working.

That's what I am suspicious about, the owner says not. Not sure where it is located on this motor to check it out. Concerned may be trying to hide something. My last boat had indirect cooling so I knew what the temerature range was for them.
