I have a problem with my Volvo Panel. For whatever reason the engine alarm buzzer has stopped working and I really don’t have a clue where to start fault finding the problem .The alarm test function doesn’t work either – no sound whatsoever from the unit .
The unit I have is shown below and guidance would be great , has anyone had this problem on this unit ?
Thanks

Well start by testing the buzzer by removing and connecting to a 12 volt supply and/or checking that there is a power supply to it when the test button is pressed.

£88 though. for something that should cost Under a fiver

When you press the alarm "Test" do the warning lights light-up. If so it could be just the buzzer (piezo) unit. If the lights don't light, it is likely to be either the sealed logic block behind the panel or a wiring problem. Could even be the ignition Sw. As another poster has suggested, the buzzer can be tested by applying 12v to it.

Thanks Vic S and Gypsy ,
Nothing happens when the test switch is depressed so I guess it could also be the test switch at fault .I assume just making the circuit will test that though .Yes I've noticed that Volvo are charging muggers prices for the switches and modules that’s really why I need some guidance to eliminate the obvious and cheap fixes first .

Had a look at the panel this weekend .Put 12V across the buzzer terminal and all OK. All other connections seem to look nice and tight.
When I put ignition to position 1 the oil pressure and battery warning light glows red but NO temperature light appears .The manual says that this light should come on and go off after 20 seconds .The only thing I can think of that would cause this is the alarm module itself - has anyone seen this sort of fault happen ?
