Hi all,
I'm new to this forum so please be patient.
I'm looking for a scrap/non-functioning Volvo engine alarm panel. The one with the 4 lights for water temperature, oil pressure, alternator and glow plugs.
A panel in any condition will help.
Thank you in anticipation.

Welcome to the forum.

When I fitted a second hand VP 2003 years ago, it didn't come with a panel, so I made one.

A simple "ignition" switch, a press button for the starter and warning lights from a car breaker. The charge warning light, that needs to be connected between the ignition switch and the field terminal on the alternator needs to be a filament type to pass enough current to excite the coils and start the alternator working. (There is a way to do it with an LED, but KISS technology needs a filament) A piezo buzzer with the +ve connected to the ignition switch and -ve to earth via the oil pressure and temperature sensors completes it.

Hi Stemar,
Thank you for your reply.

Here is a detailed description of the panel and a schematic diagram that has enough information to let you make your own from scratch.

The 4th warning light , shown as "12volt alarm (coolant)" is normally the glow plug energised indication where glow plugs are fitted
.

Hi Alex Blackwood,
Thank you for your input. You are correct, I want a scrap panel. I want it in order to get its physical measurements.

Perhaps someone on the forum will be able to provide that information. If you can provide information on exactly what you need it may help. ;)
