VOLVO 2030 DIESEL

I own a Bavaria with a 2030 volvo diesel. The engine which is just over a year old with 170 hrs use went 'kaput' on me. The volvo mechanic will be looking at the problem on monday.
I seem to recall in the back of my mind a problem with the oil pump on these engines. Anybody recall reading this article or know of problems with the 2030 engine. I dont know yet what the fault is but being prewarned always helps.

Don't know of any problems with the oil pump. For your info the base engine is the same as the Perkins Perama range (taken over by Volvo Penta and changed to VP standards) the base engine is Japanese and normally very good. Good luck after Volvo visit, hope they will honour warranty if indeed pump is the problem.
