Does anyone have a set? I've got the full workshop manual and it doesn't have the dimensions of the bloody thing.

I'm trying to work out what will fit in its place in the new boat. Should be easier to work this out by comparing the dims on paper, rather than trying to measure accurately in the dark and oily engine compartment. Oh, its a down angle one too.

Volvo 2003 drawings...

These dimensioned drawings are from the original Volvo Penta sales brochure. The first one shows front and side dimensions of the 2003T; the second shows the narrower dimensions of the non-turbo 2003.

A little thread drift here, but if you are changing the engine (as you imply), then I'll take the workshop manual off your hands /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Manuals...

You can download the workshop manual free here on the BlueMoment website, and the parts manual (lots of good exploded drawings) is here on the Beneteau Owners website.

Is the old engine a scrapper? Because I'm looking for the fresh water cooling components for my raw water 2003, but given its age and likely life span factory spares prices dont make sense.

Michael:

Please put me in the queue behind "wotayottie" if you are selling off anything for a freshwater cooling system on the 2003 as likewise I want to convert my otherwise excellent engine.

Thanks.. Peter

I'm waiting for the owner to make his mind up on my final post survey offer.

The 2003 runs, but smokes rather a lot, is 20 years old and the boat has spent a lot of time in the Med. So I suspect it is pretty worn.

None of this rules it out,per se, but it is a bit under sized for the boat, I'm planning a circumnavigation, the P bracket needs to be replaced; therefore the engine has to come out and it seems sensible to fit a new one. I think the Beta 37.5 hp will fit.
