At this time of the year many people will be doing the final work including a pre season service to their engine.

As Volvo Penta parts, including filters nearly always make us wince when we have to buy them, you might just like this bit of information, these are all equivalent part numbers. I have just bought all three, 2 x fuel, 1 x oil Fram filters from a motor factor for £13.88 incl VAT. Good value?

That's useful. My local motor factor should be able to find one of those for me next time.

For my Volvo 2001 Keypart supplied me with a Mann WK712/2 for my main fuel filter (as you said) and a Sure Filter SFF 0167 for the water separator (CAV).

I posted that list. When I had my engine out last year and the top end overhauled I asked the engineer to replace all the filters whilst he was about it. He used Bosch ones. Why does anybody bother with Volvo ones, especially on old engines?

Well thanks to you we all benefit! Lets face it, does Volvo make filters? No, it will be, say Bosch with a paint job. It wont be the best quality that is the deciding factor for them either. it will be the ones they can buy the cheapest, that you can be sure.

On a similar theme, I have found Jabsco impellers to be of better quality than the volvo branded version. Had a number of volvo impeller failures in the bond between the brass core and the neoprene. Never yet had a jabsco failure.

Well done,
what about the 2030?

Perhaps another poster will save us some bucks here?

Good sailing and boating to all!

They have impellers and filters and the option to buy Volvo , Yanmar etc genuine alongside non genuine equivalents

Spoke to manager Mark an ex Volvo Penta Engineer, who says he has selected every part for its known quality and not just because it fits and is cheaper than genuine parts.
He says it has taken him years to find quality products that are good enough to offer as equivalent parts to genuine parts.

Just bought my engine service kit from them and worked out cheaper and easier than motor factors.

He says they only use high quality filters and not Fram or Sierra? (american copy filters) either which is good as my friend nearly lost his engine when his fram oil filter rotted through after less than a year on his dry engine room KAD42.

If you go to the Baldwin filter web site, they have an excellent equivalents catalogue that will give you their equivalent filter number . We use Baldwin on lifeboat engines and other demanding environments very successfully . Baldwin in the UK are situated in Basildon. The inline filter website is very competative on price. There seems to be a lot of concern over Fram oil filters on the web and a number of youtube videos expose the innards. Are there any specific other brands recomended by anyone?
