Yesterday i was in despair,my engine or rather gearbox was making horrible rattling sounds at low revs in gear,i had visions of stipping the gearbox MS2B R and all the expense that would entail,so i came home posted a thread on here and a kind gent by the name of Jerryat suggested i try looking at the flexible engine mounts as a freind of his had the same problem a few years ago,on checking mine i found that the forward port side mount had worked loose, after replacing the old nut with a new nyloc nut and after i started the engine i could hear just the sweet soft thump thump of that single pot,no horrible rattling. So i just thought i would pass this on in case anyone else finds themselves in the same predicament. Thanks again Jerry.

I thought I had lost the big end on my old volvo MD1b only to discover the engine mounts had the rubber torn from the backing pad. It must be a design problem as three of the four new ones tore within a month of being fitted.
