Hello guys i have an old aq115 with 100b outdrive in my boat and was wondering if the universal joint and top/gimbal bearing in the outdrive need greasing yearly like the mercruisers do?.
I have greased the bearing in the bellhousing side but dont think the lower gear oil gets up to lube the top outdrive bearing so any input would be greatly appreciated.

Early drives have a cv joint which dont need greasing as the oil gets splashed up into the bellows. Later ones with universal joints might have grease nipples on the joints like the later drives do. The gimbal bearing (called an intermediate bearing on these) is greased using the fitting on the bellhousing.

Keypart are very helpfull with spares for these - you can buy all the bits to service them in their online store. They also stock spares for them but major parts are no longer available like scottie says. Parts for the engine itself are easy to get hold of.
