Having not visited Swansea for quite a few years I looked at the marina website for information. There seems to be none. So I sent an email to the contact address given, on Sunday, and have not yet received a reply.

I had some misgivings when noting that the email address appears to be linked to a local council. The last council marina we dealt with was Pwllheli, which was poorly run in comparison to others we've visited.

Can anyone give information about boats visiting Swansea?

I visited on the Saturday of the bank holiday weekend. I arrived at the marina office at 21-10, the guy said they close at 21-00 but don't worry the Tawe lock had informed them of our arrival and they don't have a problem with leaving a little late. I go there about once a year and, although I don't like to spend time moored in a housing estate, the staff have always been very friendly.

We have visited several times and no complaints. On arrival moor up to the pontoon on the port side just before the marina lock. Go up to the office and book in .They prefer you to do this than just go straight in.

I've always had good service from the marina as well. I tend to call them if I have a question as oppose to email and have always had a friendly and helpful voice on the other end. The only issue with the lock system that I have found is that I have to wait a little longer than I usually do to leave the lock after the gates open. I've found some residual eddies like to catch the bow and swing the boat out pretty quick.
