We left the Orwell 0500 on Tuesday, vis good wind NE light. As we progressed north the Deben was enveloped in localised river fog.
By the time we got up to Southwold the sun had burnt the fog off, we had good vis all day. Having spent a couple of nights in the river Blythe no real fog up until yesterday however wind had become offshore.
We passed a couple of fishing boats and one other yacht all day on Tues. Few folk about!
Good, standing on the far side of the walton backwaters can see right across clearly to the VTS beacon and docks at felixstowe. Had one foggy day this week but other than that it's been very good. Shame so many are taking their boats out as the conditions are good at the moment. Just gets fresh in the evenings. Perfect for day sailing though.
