Hi all.

Has anyone ever put a vinyl wood wrap over old water stained woodwork on their boat?

if so, how happy are you with the results, and where did you get the wrap?

Thanks
Alistairr.

Stuff’s a pain - seems to magnify and highlight the tiniest imperfections in the substrate (on painted steel that is - all I’ve tried it on!). Can imagine it’d be/look a nightmare on wood unless it was mirror varnished. And then if you made a mistake, it’d probably pull the varnish off anyway! But just guessing..,

The ‘right’ stuff to use would probably be a sheet of Formica. The rigid backing will hide - rather than magnify - a multitude of sins. Not as hard as it sounds to achieve, with a decent template, a router flush-trim bit and some trim for the edges.
