Vinyl Headlining (not fabric backed) Gluing?

Hawke House (.co.uk), who specialise in headlings etc. and sell various adhesives for the job, advise -

"Foam backed vinyls only: apply SAF111 to fibreglass and spray Trade Tack on the foam.
On ply you only need to use WA40 on the board.

Unfoamed vinyls: Apply SAF111 to fibreglass or ply and rear of fabric."

I think the unfoamed vinyl headlining is probably fabric backed. In which case SAF111 will be suitable

For vinyl to vinyl Hawke House sell Tradegrip SAF60. Only small tins though. I cannot find it on Tradegrip's website though

What there is however is Tradegrip PVC. It seems to be a single pack adhesive , but with the option of using a curing agent (Tradecure 100).

This I would think is very similar to the Polymarine product ( which can be used as a single pack adhesive) in my earlier link

Some very exotic and fancy adhesives being talked about here. Seems a lot of trouble.

I just used Screwfix No-Nonsense impact adhesive, around £1 a tube, and it worked fine.
Solvent free, no smell. Very effective, no fuss.

Not waterproof, but my roof doesn't leak.

The quote came from http://www.farnell.com/datasheets/1504114.pdf

It is not very specific about the materials it will stick. My recollection of the distant days of wet suit making was that ordinary Evostik was no good but the bond using the correct Neoprene adhesive was inseparable.

I believe though that both Timebond and Evostik are polychloroprene based.

The product that pops up as suitable for polychloroprene rubber is Bostik 2402 http://www.farnell.com/datasheets/311054.pdf

Maybe all getting a bit OTT maybe PVA or Solvite wallpaper paste as suggested in earlier posts will be adequate

I spoke to Mr Adhesives himself directly at Hawke House and as it actually turns out this is PVC not neoprene, the adhesive of choice is "Tradegrip PVC" or AKA "SAF 60".

I have purchased an appropriate amount, and some solvent to remove the existing, incorrect glue.

Thanks for all the help!
