I have RPi 3 and Renogy Bluetooth batteries. I'm interested to see if I can connect the two via Bluetooth to see their data on the Pi.

A quick search brings up some quite techy stuff from a while back but it's beyond my abilities to work it out. I wondered if anyone has made an app for download, plug and play. Or near enough to easily set up.

I can't see anything which would be totally plug and play as it were for a Pi.

Presumably the Renogy phone app isn't meeting your needs?

openplotter/signalk is pretty close to plug n play to get up and running, - copy onto an sd card, put it in the Pi & turn on. OpenPlotter 4.x.x

Doesn't help you though, there is an app which will do exactly that for Victron kit like smartshunt & smart solar over bluetooth , yet to see similar for Renogy though. But the software is very well supported with new apps getting written all the time, you never know, might be available with a few button presses soon.

On here can be quite negative as well towards tech like that for some reason, maybe not the best place to ask. Though quick google didn't come up with anything easy either.

Nice

It's a library that can be freely incorporated in to other software projects. It does all the hard work, the other project then receives the data and can use it
One of the outcomes s of working with information management for nearly three decades is that I can recognise when the technology could be useful; and, in trying to use it, I have found that I can destroy a sandbox really well! 😀.

So I look at GitHub and sail away fast!
