Seals are definitely increasing in number along the central south coast UK. Years ago I only ever saw them in Chichester harbour. Then the Newtown gang, as shown in the first picture, arrived and grew to a family or six or so I was told. They hang out at the place where the salt flats drain as the tide goes out. When they are hungry they take a passing fish. Genius.

Last week I saw seals at Newtown, Beaulieu River, Shipstall in Poole and up the Wareham channel in Poole. They are always entertaining and let's hope they continue to expand.
