Hi,

I have a BMV-702 (with BT dongle) and a SmartSolar 100/20 on my boat, and I'm using VictronConnect on my iPhone to view status information of both devices

I'm using VE.Smart networking to send data from the BMV to the solar controller, mainly to ensure that the solar controller has an accurate measurement of the voltage at the battery bank. Using the VE.Smart icon in the corner of the status screen on VictronConnect when connected to the BMV it states that is transmitting battery voltage and battery current yet doing the same on the solar controller states it's receiving battery voltage and battery temperature. This doesn't seem right and there doesn’t seem to be any way to configure this ?.

Have I missed something in the setup ? I realise that the battery current measurement being sent to the solar controller is only to enable a more accurate measurement of tail current and may not be critical, but this apparent mismatch of information being transmitted/received may have unknown consequences ?

any experience/suggestions ?

thanks

The Smart solar controller did not take current into account when this was all designed, so whilst the BMV is transmitting it, the solar controller will ignore it, unless there has been a recent firmware update to add the feature, which i'm not aware of.
