Victron Combi with Digital Multi Control panel

On top of having the panel installed on his boat, BartW is a Victron expert also for business reasons, so I'm sure he can confirm if it's OK for the display to stay on at all time.
You might drop him a PM, in case he doesn't see this thread...

Hi Tony,
I assume you mean the blue led display,
Iirc it switches " off" when the unit is off, but i'm not sure,
Our units on the boat (we have 2 with a remote panel each) are alway's on, i'll check next time on the boat, or perhaps we still have a unit in the office, i'll have a look tomorrow.

Further to your PM,
The switch on the main units are alway's in the "on" position,
Then you have full controll from the DMC

Sorry to be not 100% clear, i do not operate the units on a daiy base,
Units work well, you should have no problem,

When away from the boat, don't forget to set the switch on the DMC at "charge only"
So that the unit will switch off when shore power interrupts, or restart and charges when shorepower comes back "on"

Thanks Bart
Spoke to Victron support this morning and i need to set a couple of dipswitches on the main unit - dip 1 to right and dip 2 to left. Display should then go off when switch in 'off' position.
Classic case of RTFM :D

Went down today and set the two dipswitches - yep, that was it. Generally very nice piece of kit but surprised how tiny and vulnerable the little on/off/chargeronly toggle switch is on the remote panel - a 3 position rotary would be much better.
