VHF radio clicking

Hi all when I turn on my fish finder my radio starts clicking,
I turn up my squelch and then it go's but then I cant hear distant stations calling

Do anybody know what wire i need to put a suppressor on radio of fishfinder ??????,

try a ferrite bead choke clamp on the cable from the fish-finder/multifunction display to the transducer. It will probably work best closer to the display unit. Try sliding the ferrite along this wire and see if there is a best position. (sounds bonkers but try it). If that doesn't work try another one on the power lead to the fish-finder display.
Get a few different sizes and lengths as it can be difficult to stop this kind of RF interference without the necessary test kit.
Also have a look at how the +12v power supply is fed to the fish-finder and the VHF - if you can keep the associated cables as far apart as possible and make sure both units have a good, separate 0v connection.
