VHF on non tidal Thames

It's a long thread so I appologise if I am repeating or missed something. I did jthe excellant course at Bisham Abbey recently. I never turn my radio on the non-tidal Thames but would if passing boats were transmitting or receiveing. They might warn me of swimmers round the next bend.

Today I attended the 'RYA Marine VHF Radio Short Range Certificate' course run by Cricklade Sea School in Wiltshire.

It was fun and informative and I can fully recommended it.

Thanks again ThamesBoater for the tip.

That's good to hear. Still not been able to find one easy for me to get to. We are thinking of moving the boat to the south coast sometime next year so am defiantly going to need a radio licence.
