Casually turned on radio mid-breakfast washing-up on Sunday morning to hear a number of incidents along the coast. A large black tarpaulin floating off Sizewell, 100 metres of drift net floating off Bawdsey, a container ship broken down on approached to Felixstowe, someone with radio on send chatting away with a group of people.
Tarp was recovered and is on Aldeburgh beach (size of a marquee says a fisherman in local). Dont know what happened to the net but I believe it had a bouy on it? Capt of ship sounded progressively depressed and eventually had to anchor with engine problems. Chatting people were shutted by coastgaurd.
Must have been a good day for fishing as the boats coming into Ore looked well laden. Certainly a good day to be on the water.
