Hi - my question this morning is : I am going to view a boat in France and maybe if all goes well keep it there.
Would it be easier to remove the vhf radio and replace it with one from the UK?
Please bear with me as I am totally new to this and have just passed the Rya vhf src course.
I am thinking this as the age of the boat is approx 20 years old and if the radio is the same it won't have dsc and programmed in French

All opinions welcome
Jon

hi,

if its a non dsc radio, keep it in the boat as a spare,
and buy a new dsc, and have that UK registered.

if it is a dsc radio, you can take it home in your Luggage, and have the mmsi re-programmed
(useally a dealer job)

what size is the boat ?
