VHF Handset lead

My vhf radio can receive but not transmit. I seem to have a broken wire within the insulation on the coiled wire from the set to the mike. IIRC the lead has approx 7 small wires inside. Does anyone know if anyone in the Gosport area can rewire this for me, as the unit is no longer in production.

Think I have one of those at home which I recently swapped for a new raymarine radio, cant remember what was wrong with it but will probrably sell for spares, pm me if you interested and will have a look, will be back home friday

At not much over a hundred quid, would it not be worth considering buying a new set ? Nice Standard Horizon DSC set ?
