I thought it might be my battery charger, but clearly not then. Something in the yard? - but it's constant anytime night or day. Oh and thanks for the chart-let by the way. I was looking in entirely the wrong place on the internet, got it now though.
Thanks again

Is it just me in North Fambridge, but does anyone else get pulsing interference on channel 86?:(

I think it has been a problem for a several months now. A couple of boats and I advised the CG of this problem but as they don't listen on that channel they didn't seem all that interested.

While on the subject - when a group of us went up the Thames last July there was a similar problem on channel 80 but that was just annoying rather than stopping us hearing CG broadcasts.

Thanks Tillergirl. I have noticed a problem on 86 all summer but not just at Fambridge. There's interference on the channel fairly continously

It's a bit of a problem because the MSI broadcast on 23 or 84 is not always readable. Surprising because reception from Thames CG on 16 is excellent.... Bradwell is the closest to us in Fambridge YH.

sorry, I should add .... and often Dover CG comes in loud and clear.

This has been done to death previously. To recap: at all MRCC stations ch16 aerial is the highest on any mast, when the MSI is broadcast the computer selects the ch 67 aerial and changes the channel to the relevant MSI channel. This aerial is the lowest on any mast thus reducing tx distance.
Dover CG has a distinct height advantage over all sites within Thames CG patch. If you research aerial sites all in Thames are virtually at sea level, Dover is approx 300ft ASL plus height of mast!
Hope this helps.
