Vessel Named \"Elegance\"??

I was in our lock at chatham last Sunday and a superb looking vessel called Elegance also pulled in, it took up half the lock! The story I got was that it is taking part in the Southampton Boat show and is staying in Chatham a few days before going to Southampton. She is a fine looking vessel probably Italian in design and looks about sixty foot long!

Anyone know what make of vessel it is and who owns it?
Just being nosey really!

Regards Barry

Re: Vessel Named \"Elegance\"??

Is it a Elegance rather than named Elegance?
You see a few in the Med and I believe they are German designed and sold (Drettman) but built in Taiwan and there was one at last years Soton Show

Re: Vessel Named \"Elegance\"??

Ah Well done Mike, Thats the one! it must be the 64' model that we have in Chatham. Super looking boat, someone mentioned it was about £4 million pounds? I don't think I will put my order in just yet!!

Re: Vessel Named \"Elegance\"??

V surprised if the 64 footer cost £4m, more like £1m I would have thought. From what I hear they come into the lotta-boat-for-the-money category a bit like Traders.

I know a bloke who knows a bloke who's got one

Re: Vessel Named \"Elegance\"??

Not a very goood pic but this boat called Elegance was in St Kats Docks in London Bank Holiday weekend. Same one? Certainly a stunner.

Re: Vessel Named \"Elegance\"??

Barry,
Have been looking at this make for a while now and went to Mallorca in May to have a sea trial, fully loaded 64 with twin garage for jet rib & jet ski with all conceivable extras but custom built inc office bureau type arrangement in copious saloon, american style freezer, etc. came out just shy of 1.4mill. All trim / upholstery is open for discussion and chosen via a design studio in London.

Lovely boat at sea, very nice to handle, not a Sunseeker, handling wise but equall match build wise, very well priced/specced against that marque. Don't know whats happening to second hand values, seem to hold up OK in Med over here might take a fair hit as not well known. Thus a little worrying to order new howver am very seriously looking at sourcing used 64 with Drettman, (The Builder) from Med to see how it all goes. Discussions continue at SIBS, we shall see.

For some unexplicable reason when I mentioned them on here before got some very derogatory replies, which I thought were ill informed so have kept quiet about 'em since, IMHO very nice "solid" boat.

I agree with you they seem nice and solid. Proper ship E/R and all hydraulic.

Nor 100% sure on residuals either - at SIBS and LIBS they had used boats on show that were of sale.

Another issue is the ones I have seen have been spec'ed by people who like yellow carpets and orange walls.......So I await a view of a tastfully fitted out Elegance.

As said the mechanical bits and that super garage are tops and the degree of customization they will do is very fab.

Re: Like them

The 82 at Mallorca was very tastefully done, ....in parts. They even sent us samples of the materials etc that we liked so that one could mix & match with other choices, really excellent attitude to service. P

Re: Like them

We've been out to Portals twice to view 48/54. Well speced and priced. Excellent engine room and soundproofing. Loved the air con which cools without blowing into your face.
Went to Dusseldorf to compare against Man 50. The different selling style between Drettmann and SS was striking.
Drettman very welcoming and plenty of time given to us - SS very pushy and later hounded by finance co rep. We will be talking to Elegance again at Shampton.
