With the latest rounds of winds and floods I haven't been able to get to the drying out wall to change props. Tomorow is my only chance until the tides are conducive towards the end of January. Just hoping I actually get to go to ground for more than a few minutes. The floods are messing up all the predictions. I'd be mighty peeved if I have to sit 4 hours down pushing with my feet to keep the boat off the wall, and 4 hours up and not complete the job.
Note the concrete ledge that juts out past the vertical wooden rub posts (1st pic?)? Who's bright idea was that
No the bed shallows out towards the jetty. It's actually on the mud already. It's a converted trawler now houseboat and never leaves. Created a nice little hole for itself there. Though some poor sod once didn't leave enough slack on the warps. Left his boat dangling on it's side. He was damn lucky it was able to right itself on the rising tide and not founder.
Props changed after a bit of hassle. Greased splines had collected a bit of salt cementing props on and where do I get boiling water here? Thank god for council navvies then.
