Very good gelcoat cleaner

Noticed a passing mention of a product called Astonish in last months PBO article on cleaning. Avilable from Wilkinsons for 90p. Its BL***y good. Tried it today on my filthy cockpit and discoverd that actually the gelcoat is white after all. Its easy to use and far more effective than Y10.

Try a product called "shiny Sinks" its better than Astonish and not much more costly.

Any supermarket....have some onboard for the sink and stainless but never thought to try it on the GRP.....It contains citric acid I believe.

'Astonish' works well on fenders too, and s/steel brightwork.

Which Astonish did you use?There are two types.One is called Household Cleaner & it says on it"not for plastic or acrylic baths"
The other one is Astonish Bathroom Cleaner/Acylic Bath & Sink Cleaner.
The first one might be too abrasive for GRP.

The household cleaner one. hasnt doen any damage as far as i can tell - gelcoat is already 30 year sold so is well worn anyway
