Nothing wrong with a Vancouver 27 or 28; or many others.

Just that, IMO, nothing but a Vertue will do.

Particularly if you have had one before and I have had GRP and wood.


Nobody in the world would have persuaded me to accept an alternative on both occasions.

I could'nt agree more.My Mac 27 ticks all the boxes for me & curiously enough looks very similar to a virtue above the water line.They both share a wonderful shear line.What a pity that that has now gone out of fashion!

A beautiful boat - even in GRP. If that had been recommended as an alternative I would have had to reconsider my comments.

As an aside, pity none were built in Hong Kong in teak.

Have you considered a Trintella 1A. I think it would tick most of your boxes. GRP hull, mahogony coachroof, teak decks.It has the 'Look Back' factor.

Even the Trintella 1 is nice.

I helped a mate bring his steel one from Holland to Chichester and, later after he trucked it to SoF, from Sete to Sant Carles.

Superb build and a lovely motion. Good value too.

I seem to remember delivering a Vertue in about 1978 from Rendsberg on the Kiel canal to Chatham.The owner was an Army man.Think she may have been called Andrillot and one of the 1st to be built.No self draining cockpit terrible weather,January from memory..stops in Cuxhaven,Heliogoland,Den Helder and Ijmunden.Anyone know about her?
