Venice - Darsena Fusina Marina

Visiting Venice in your own craft is a MUST. Beware, it's a bit like driving in London's rush hour traffic for the first time, just pay attention ahead and don't look anywhere else !!!:-)
Google for info on Fusina. It looks as though it's on the eastern/adriatic side. The 'buses' (water) are fantastic & cheap. Mostly tickets are sold on a time basis, so don't do what we did first and buy a ticket for each 'bus'. Get the No.1 for THE trip along the grand canal. An absolute must is the trip out to Burano & Murano the lace & glass islands.
It's expensive!! Plan to spend a weeks eating out money on just a couple of expressos & a small bottled water in St Mark's Square, but hey you only live once !! Enjoy & have a great time.

A friend of mine chartered a yacht in Croatia a couple of years ago & sailed to Venice, staying at the marina on San Giorgio (small island very close to San Marco square - 5 mins by waterbus). His experience was the subject of an article published in YM (I think perhaps last year?)

Try contacting YM to see if they can help.

Just got back from a week there, agree with Zigmundo, very expensive, but worth every penny!
A point to consider, I didn't see many public landing areas in the city centre, mostly private or taxi/waterbus landings.
Worth bearing in mind if you're taking your own boat and want to have a walk about, (and you can walk just about everywhere).
