I've just read the compensation times for the rescue of Escoffier. If you apply these time to the passing of Cape Leeuwin, Boris crossed first, followed by Jean, then Charlie Dalin and the others. I realise it makes little difference but interesting, at least to me! It shows how difficult this is for the International jury.

Alternatively, Multiplying the competitor's AVG boatspeed by the compensation hours gives an estimated distance of how much nearer they are to the leader after adjustment.
