Hi everyone
I have a set of VDO wind instruments on my boat. They have been aboard for about 20 years. Prior to my buying her, the mast head unit was broken. I am trying to find a way of trapping a signal which will at least give me a speed read out through the deck instrument. The meter has a three wire input connector and two of these are + and -.
Does anyone know how the instrument works. Is it somesort of resistance value or is it the same as my paddlewheel speed log which has magnetic clicks.
Any ideas anywhere?
Thanks
TonyM
You can tell from the email that I am somewhat ignorant of basic electronics and electronic instrumentation!
