Now available, a inexpensive replacement LED hours display with ribbon .Have been assured it will be OK on my 41B engines.
£25.00 with P&P.
Have just ordered one.
Several how fit videos on Youtube.
Think the actual total hours run is stored in the Tacho not on the LED block.
Will let you know if it is any good and in the process discover exactly how many hours my engines have on the clock.

Others have used these. I understand with success.

Seems like all that is missing is the marine price tag.

Duff Hours Display ?. No Problem.

Now know exactly how many hours engines have done.
Very simple job, less than an hour from removing dash panel to turning key to power up tacho. .
All you really need is a couple of small screwdrivers and in my case specs for close work.
All very stone age technology and hard to mess up unless you are very very determined.
Looking at Youtube videos, early and latest VDO units all use same LED device with minor differences in dismantling.

Re: Duff Hours Display ?. No Problem.

There are several companies offering these kits, some double the price of the company mine came from.
It is impossible when reassembling to get anything wrong, the Tacho wiring loom has dedicated plugs.
One other tip, if the screw holes on the corners of your instrument panel have broken/ crumbled away , four black little plastic screw covers cover up the damaged corners nicely and also help spread the load .
