VDO SUMLOG SL

The 1993 Nimbus 27C I have just bought has a VDO Sumlog SL log fitted but unfortunately the head is showing no life at all. I'm 99% confident that the paddlewheel may have been damanged on a previous lift out, it does not turn freely despite it having been cleared of weed etc. Can anybody tell me how test to ensure it is the paddlewheel (transducer) that needs to be replaced?

Secondly, where can I obtain a new transducer from? Does VDO Sumlog still trade under that name?

HI PM me your email address and I'll send you a picture of the one I have - I think it's the same, have transducer and skin fitting plud plug. The head on mine went intermittant.

Your welcome to it, just cover the postage.

Peter

I found on my paddlewheel that the 'cup' it sits in had bulged at the top (never found out why) and was interfering with the edges of the blades....I filed a bit off the top of each blade and it revolved freely again - this was on a Nimbus 31 by the way ;-)
