VC Performance Epoxy by Interlux

i have searched for an answer beforehand and not found a suitable answer, so i'll give a direct post a try. I have a 26 ft cruiser that was previously painted with antifouling paint. As i am trailering this boat i do not need the antifouling and as it is in bad shape i am removing it. Sanding, scraping, etc.

i would like to replace it it with as durable as paint as possible. What would some of you recommend? I am looking at Interlux's VC Performance Epoxy as this it recomended for trailered boats that need paint.

Yep, go for it. Basically any good epeoxy gloss on the bottom will do nicely. Thats what they use on the RNLI slip launched boats, but cant remember which epoxy it is, somebody might know.

You're probably already aware that dry-sanding antifoul is a bit of a health risk - it should be wet-sanded to minimise the risk of inhalation.

Mind you, at least you wouldn't get too many barnacles growing in yer lungs............

thanks for the tip, i am wearing respirator and goggles. Yes, this stuff does burn when it gets in your nose and eyes. i just wish i could find a full face respirator. i may have to work at keeping it more wet than dry.
